The CF Cornerman app
Giving is one way to help. This app is for doing something: one small action at a time, for the people fighting cystic fibrosis.
Why we built it
A cornerman cannot fight the fight for his fighter. What he can do is show up, every round.
Rebecca and I have learned that since we met in 1998, through a double lung transplant in 2015 and a kidney transplant in 2024. Her corner filled up with family, friends, care teams, and people we had never met who walked, gave, and spoke up. Every one of them mattered.
Most people want to help someone with CF, but they don’t know where to start. We built the CF Cornerman app to give them a place to start, and a reason to keep going.
How it works
Tell it a little about you
How much time you have, what you’re interested in, and your ZIP code, so it can suggest walks and events near you.
Get one small action at a time
Learn something about CF, say thank you, invite a friend, get ready for a Great Strides walk, or contact your lawmakers.
Build your Corner
Track what you’ve done, earn badges and ranks, and watch your Corner grow as the people you invite join in.
What to know
- It’s free. No ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases.
- It never asks for money. If you choose to give, you do it on the pages of the CF charity you choose, such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Joey Fund, the Boomer Esiason Foundation, or CFRI.
- It never asks about anyone’s health. Supporting the CF community is open to everyone.
- Reminders stay rare. At most one notification a week, only if you turn them on.
- You choose who sees you. Public, your Corner only, or completely private.
- It’s for adults 18 and older in the United States.
- It’s an independent project. It is not part of, or approved by, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
